The Mid-American Conference’s Big 12 Championship will be played at The Cotton on Dec. 20.
The Big 12’s new television deal with CBS includes a commitment to a Cotton Bowl, but the Cotton Bowl has not yet announced when it will open.
The conference has previously confirmed the Cotton is open, but hasn’t confirmed a date.

The league said in a statement that it is committed to making the Cotton one of the most competitive bowls in all of college football.
