A casino in County Galway that is the subject of a criminal investigation has been linked to a string of murders in the state.
In January last year, an unnamed person was shot dead at the Sands Casino in the town of Drogheda.
A number of other murders have been reported at casinos in the past few years.
In 2015, a man was shot and killed in Limerick.
The victim, identified as John O’Hara, had been involved in a dispute with the manager of the casino.
He was found slumped in the car park of the Sands casino in Droghegan on December 18, 2015.
The man had reportedly suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Three other men were arrested in connection with the crime and are in custody.
A police spokeswoman said they are awaiting forensic tests to establish if the man was the victim of an attempted murder.
The police investigation is continuing and no arrests have been made.
