More than 30 million Americans are expected to gamble in Las Vegas this year.
With no state gambling commission, casinos in the city have been able to gamble away the $3 billion in tax revenue that goes into the state’s general fund each year.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board has been considering its future after a series of setbacks with casinos and the state legislature.
It has not ruled out the possibility of moving casino operations to another state.
The board has also said it is open to considering moving gambling to a more rural location in western Nevada.
Nevada’s gaming commission is expected to make a decision on the future of the Vegas casinos next week.
